De Gud - Good by Nature

De Gud is the Irish Language form of our family surname - Good. The Good family has been farming in County Cork for nearly four hundred years, and this farm at Ballinvologe, Minane Bridge has been in our hands since 1963.

We grow hay, beans, winter wheat and spring barley - including malting barley supplied to the Malting Company of Ireland for the production of Jameson Irish Whiskey. Eight acres of our farm is dedicated to growing wildflower wild bird cover. The farm has hundreds of mature native trees - Scots pine, oak, ash, hawthorn and more - line our fields and laneways, with new trees being planted every year.

De Gud Farm is a working farm in the truest sense - the land is farmed, the hedgerows are minded, the old stone barn has been restored, and the soil is looked after as well as the crop it grows. We are developing an agri-tourism enterprise here that will allow visitors to experience all of this for themselves - the farming, the wildlife, the history, and the landscape of south County Cork.
